BHARAT STORES ONLY KANNADA FILM FOR IP

For the Indian Panorama section of 2013 - 26 feature films and 16 non feature films were selected by Lenin (Editor) committe with nine members. Only one entry from Kannada got selected. That is `Bharat Stores`of P Seshadri in Basanth Productions.

At the 60thnational awards announced `Bharat Store` of Basanth Production directed by P Seshadri was adjudged the best regional cinema. This is seventh in a row for P Seshadri. His films like Munnudi, Athithi, Beru, Vimukthi, Thutturi, Bettada Jeeva have won awards in the past starting his career in the year 2000.

For the performance of `Dattanna`in Bharath Stores there was a special mention. It was a certificate for Dattanna. He has won two national awards in the past for Munnudi and Mussanje.

Out of 26 feature films Pan Singh Thomar is automatic entry as it was last lest best feature film. Six Malayalam films are in the Indian Panorama section. Five from Bengali and 5 from Hindi are major films screened at IP section.

An English and Konkani film`The Coffin Maker`by Veena Bakshi is also among the 26 films at the 44th Indian Panorama section.
